Keeping the Connection: Legacy Scholarships for UWAA Member Families Print
There are more than 1,100 new freshmen on campus this fall whose parents are UW alumni—about 21 percent of the total class. The UW Alumni Association feels these legacy families are an important link to the past—and the UW’s future.

To help continue campus traditions and nurture Husky Pride, the UWAA offers a Legacy Scholarship Program, awarding three $2,500 scholarships to eligible children and grandchildren of UW alumni.

Applicants must be enrolled full time and on track to be a junior or senior for Fall Quarter 2008. The applicant’s sponsor, a parent or grandparent, must be a UW graduate and current dues-paying UWAA member. A minimum g.p.a. of 3.0 and demonstration of financial need are required.

Award recipients will be selected on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievements, leadership and community service. The deadline for applications is Feb. 29, 2008. For more information, call Suzanne Mercier at 206-543-0540 or 1-800-AUW-ALUM.
