The College of the Environment celebrated its first birthday this summer by naming Lisa Graumlich, ’85, as its dean. A scientist known internationally for investigating how ecosystems and human societies adapt to climate change, she recently served as director of the University of Arizona’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment.
In June, the School of Public Health named Dr. Howard Frumkin, of the National Center for Environmental Health at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as its new dean. An internist, environmental and occupational medicine specialist, and epidemiologist, Frumkin has also served as director of the National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and as a department chair at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
