Economics Alumni Lecture - The Kyoto Protocol

Join us for the kickoff event of the UW Economics Alumni Organization!

On Sept 18, just before the UW vs. UCLA football game, we will present a lecture by Economics Emeritus Professor Gardner Brown, who will examine how the temperature on the surface of the earth has changed dramatically in the past 25 years, and what scientists are learning about global warming as a result of human activities. Professor Brown, who specializes in natural resource economics and applied microeconomic theory, will examine why the Kyoto Protocol may be a failed design and where we should focus our energy to reduce global warming.

Cost:$5 for UWAA members, $7 for non-members, $5 for UW faculty, $3 for current students. Price includes lecture and refreshments.

Kane Hall is located on the north side of Red Square on the UW Seattle campus. View a map showing the location. Paid parking is available in the Central Plaza Garage below Kane Hall.
Driving Directions: From I-5, take the NE 45th Street exit (#169). Turn east onto NE 45th Street. Continue east about one quarter mile to 15th Avenue NE and turn right. Head south on 15th Avenue three blocks to NE 41st Street. Turn left at Gate #1 into the Central Plaza Garage. Stop at the gatehouse inside the garage for directions and a parking permit.
