UW Alumni Wine Tour and Salmon Dinner

The Tri-Cities and Kitsap, Jefferson, Clallam Alumni chapters are joining forces to throw a Husky Summer Weekend party - tour Washington wineries or just come for the salmon dinner! If you're an alum in the Tri-Cities area, be a part of this local event. Kitsap-area alumni - make the road trip and stay the night for a weekend of Husky fun.

When: Saturday, August 13, 2005, 11:45 a.m. at the Richland Red Lion Hanford House Hotel for the tour and 6:30 p.m. for dinner at the beautiful gardens of Seth Ryan Winery.
Where: Fidelistas Winery in west Kennewick, Barnard Griffin and Bookwalter wineries in Richland, Terra Blanca, Oakwood, Kiona, Hedges, and Seth Ryan wineries in the Red Mountain area.
Cost: Cost for the entire day is $75, which includes the dinner, the transportation, the talented tour guide, all the samplings and goodies, and lots of Husky Fun in the Sun! If you do not wish to tour the wineries, you may come for the delicious dinner and wines at Seth Ryan for just $25.

What to expect:
Our day of festivities begins at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th at the Richland Red Lion Hanford House Hotel where we will board our deluxe motorcoach. At noon, we will arrive at Fidelistas Winery in west Kennewick to meet renowned winemaker Charlie Hoppes and sample his varied wines. We will then travel on to south Richland's Barnard Griffin and Bookwalter wineries, two of the most popular and honored wineries in the state. Next it is on to Benton City's hot new appellation, the Red Mountain wine area, about 10 miles west of the Tri-Cities. Here we will visit Terra Blanca, Oakwood, Kiona, and Hedges wineries. Each of these four outstanding wineries is blessed with a wonderful selection of wines and great tasting room facilities. At approximately 6:30 p.m., we will arrive at the beautiful gardens of Seth Ryan Winery, where our salmon in wine sauce BBQ dinner with all the trimmings and dessert will be served. Each course of the meal will be served with the accompanying wine as we feast with the chef and winemaker, Jo Brodzinski. We will return to the hotel at 9 p.m.

Rooms for the weekend are available at a special discounted rate at the Red Lion Richland. Please let Karen know you're interested in staying at the hotel.

Red Lion Richland Hanford House is located at 802 George Washington Way in Richland. View a map showing the location. Directions - From Interstate-182, take exit 5 onto George Washington Way and head north. The Red Lion Hanford House is approximately 1 mile ahead on the right.
