Cassie GilesCassie Eileen Giles
Cassie, a senior at the UW, is majoring in international studies. She had a remarkable UW study abroad opportunity this past winter quarter in Quinto, Ecuador, an area in which Cassie has a special interest. She continues to use her Spanish speaking skills at the Mexican Consulate in downtown Seattle. As a service-learning requirement, she volunteers at the Consulate as an assistant for the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, a program that connects cultural organizations with Washington’s migrant worker population. With her busy schedule, she manages to maintain a GPA of 3.85. Outside of completing coursework, most of her time goes to playing on the women’s soccer team at the UW. Cassie is a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy (Class of 2001).

Lisa ThompsonLisa Thompson
Lisa, an accounting major, is currently in her senior year at the UW. With a GPA of 3.95, she works hard to give 100 percent and says it’s “to know that I’ve been doing my best.” With a high aptitude for math since high school, Lisa gives her knowledge of math back to the community by tutoring at Hamilton Middle School. She plans to continue her studies at the UW and obtain her master’s in tax and prepare for the CPA exam soon after. She is impressed with the business school, which is why she chose the UW in the first place. She is especially grateful for the networking opportunities she has had and the real-world experience she’s received that gears students toward future careers. Lisa is a graduate of Sunset High School (Class of 2001).
