Information School Alumni Association

The Information School Alumni Association (iSAA) helps to facilitate communication between UW's Information School and its alumni, students, faculty and administrators through a variety of programming. The club coordinates Project Network, an alumni/student mentoring program, and honors distinguished alumni at the annual Homecoming dinner.

  • 2006 Spencer Shaw Lecture
    The featured speaker was Richard Peck, discussing "Voices in an Empty Room: Five Apologies for the Narrative."
  • 2006 MSIM Annual Breakfast for Alumni and Students
    MSIM alumni met with current students and Dr. Kevin DeSouza spoke on trends in information management.
  • Information School Alumni Reception
    As part of 2006 Washington Weekend, iSchool alumni and faculty met at this mixer that also featured the introduction of new iSchool dean, Harry Bruce.
  • Beverly Cleary's 90th Birthday Celebration
    This special party honored Cleary's birthday with a talk by the Information School's first holder of the Cleary Professorship, Lynne McKenchnie.
  • 2006 Lazerow Lecturee
    Kalervo Jarvelin of the University of Tampere in Finland spoke on "Ontology-Based Searching in Unannotated Text Collections."
  • 2005 Spencer Shaw Lecture
    Spencer Shaw himself was the featured speaker for this year's lecture.
  • 2nd Annual MSIM Alumni Breakfast
    The 2005 edition of this event allowed alumni to reconnect with members of the MSIM community and meet the new students! Professor Robert M. Mason discussed "Global Issues in Knowledge Management."
  • 2004 Spencer Shaw Lecture
    This year's annual Spencer G. Shaw Lecture featured noted children's book author and illustrator Jerry Pinkey.
  • 2004 MSIM Alumni Breakfast
    Michael Crandall, Technology Manager at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, spoke at this year's breakfast.
