Summertime is all about fun in the sun and Husky Summer Celebration is no different.

Join thousands of Huskies nationwide as they gather together and celebrate the purple and gold with a series of summertime events and parties hosted and planned by alumni clubs and chapters across the country. It’s the perfect opportunity to visit with Huskies locally, bask in your Husky pride and stay connected with the University of Washington. Nearly 20 alumni groups have planned a fun-filled Husky Summer Celebration event and you’re invited to join the party!

Alaska - Husky Football Party and Freshmen Sendoff
When: Saturday, August 30, Time TBD
Join fellow Alaskan Huskies and cheer on the Dawgs as they open the 2008 football season against the Oregon Ducks. This viewing party and freshmen sendoff will take place at the Downtown Anchorage Hilton.

Bay Area - Salmon BBQ
When: Saturday, June 28, 1-5 p.m.
Join us for a classic Pacific Northwest Salmon BBQ and Potluck that connects fellow alumni, current and incoming UW students, parents, and friends of the University. Please bring a potluck side dish or dessert.

Chicago - Salmon BBQ
When: Saturday, July 19, 2008, 1-3 p.m.
It's a Husky Summer Celebration when the purple and gold invade the Windy City! Join us on the rooftop patio of AJ Maestas, '99, and Lacey Bundy, '99, for a classic Pacific Northwest Salmon BBQ.

Colorado - Salmon BBQ/Potluck
When: Sunday, July 13, 2008, 1-3 p.m.
Join the Denver Proud Husky Program at the home of Bob, '78, and Elizabeth Campbell for a classic Pacific Northwest Salmon BBQ and Potluck. Please bring a potluck side dish or dessert. Soft drinks and beer will be provided.

Dallas - Husky Night with the Mariners
When: Monday, July 28, 7:05 p.m.
They say you don't mess with Texas, but you and your fellow UW alumni might have something to say about that when the Seattle Mariners take on the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Bring the entire family and showcase your Husky pride!

Everett - Husky Day with the Everett Aquasox
When: Saturday, August 16, 6 p.m.
Join us at Memorial Stadium for Husky Night with the Everett Aquasox. Enjoy a pregame all-you-can-eat BBQ featuring favorite ballpark fare such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream and soda. The BBQ begins at 6 p.m. and the Aquasox face the Eugene Emeralds at 7:05 p.m.

Hawaii - Potluck and Freshmen Sendoff
When: Saturday, August 2, 12:30-3 p.m.
Support the UW students from Hawaii, spend a day at Waikiki Beach, and enjoy a dance performance by the UW Student Hawaii Club. Great prizes will be raffled away, with all the proceeds going towards the UW Student Hawaii Club's annual Spring Luau in Seattle.

Houston - Salmon BBQ/Potluck
When: Saturday, August 2, 2008, 2-8pm
Enjoy a classic Pacific Northwest Salmon BBQ at the home of Anita Gale, '73, '74. If you want, you can bring a potluck appetizer, salad, side dish, or desert to share.

When: Saturday, June 14, 2-5 p.m.
Join us at the estate of Lex, '59, and Diane Gamble, '59, for the 35th annual NY Alumni Salmon BBQ. Our special guests include former Washington State Governor Dan Evans, '48, '49, and Chuck Blumenfeld, '66, '69, Executive Director of the UW Alumni Association. Don't forget to bring your swim suits and tennis racquets to enjoy the pool and tennis courts!

Seattle - UW Summer Career Fair
When: Tuesday, June 24, 3 p.m.
The UWAA's campus partner, the UW Center for Career Services, hosts this free annual event in the HUB East Ballroom. Up to 80 employers will be on hand to discuss positions appropriate for students and recent graduates. The on-site UWAA Resource Center will be available exclusively to alumni in attendance who are UWAA members. The center will offer refreshments as well as information and online demonstrations of career-related member benefits.

Tacoma - Tall Ships Sailing
When: Saturday, July 5, boarding at 9 a.m., sailing at 9:30 a.m.
Celebrate Fourth of July weekend out on the water! UW Tacoma has reserved a huge block of boarding passes for the Saturday, July 5 sailing adventure on board the Virginia V during the Tall Ships Tacoma extravaganza! The Steamship Virginia V was built in 1922 to carry freight and passengers from Vashon Island to Seattle and Tacoma. She is the last surviving vessel from the famed "Mosquito Fleet."
