Dean Archibald Urges Collaborative Approaches to Green Energy in Seattle Times Column
In an Op-Ed piece in The Seattle Times, Dean Sandra O. Archibald discussed the need for collaboration across boundaries and sectors to fight climate change.  Read her column.

Archibald also announced that the Evans School will host "The New Energy Economy Summit - 10 Ways to Move Beyond the Boundaries" in Seattle this summer.  To learn more or be part of this event, please email us.

Jon Hickey, an Evans School MPA student, was selected as the winner of the "MPA/MPP You Tube Public Policy Challenge: Change the World in 1 Minute" contest sponsored by NASPAA, the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.

Evans School Welcomes 20th Class of Humphrey Fellows
This year’s class of Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows includes 16 midcareer professionals from 14 different countries working in the fields of public policy and management. Learn more




Cindy Zehnder Leads Governor Christine Gregoire’s Staff
Cindy Zehnder was named Governor Christine Gregoire’s chief of staff in November. Both Zehnder and Gregoire are members of the Evans School’s visiting committee. Read more

ALUMNI UPDATES


Sheila Edwards Lange (MPA ‘00) was named Vice President of Minority Affairs and Vice Provost for Diversity at the University of Washington.

Dean A. Mason (MPA '05) was appointed as part-time faculty at the Pierce College Military Program in Fort Lewis, Washington in August.  He is currently teaching criminal justice classes at the Stone Education Center and is preparing to teach online classes in criminal justice, management, and leadership and philosophy (ethics).  

Barbara E. Moore (MPA '96) is the Neighborhood & Community Relations Coordinator for the City of College Station, TX.  Barbara works mainly as a liaison between the community, neighborhood groups, and the city to resolve citizen concerns.

Jeri Rowe (MPA '82), Director of Public Affairs for the US Department of Veterans Affairs, received the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Relations national public affairs award at their conference in August 2007. Jeri has received prior awards for two nationally recognized print products and for her service as a charter member of the VA's National Communications Advisory Board, setting policy and shaping public affairs and intergovernmental initiatives and standards for VA Medical Center public affairs programs across the country.

Paul Rucker (MPA ‘02) was appointed Assistant Vice President for Constituent Relations in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Washington and Director of Alumni Relations and Programs at the University of Washington Alumni Association.
