  • Got Ethics?? Michael Blake, associate professor of philosophy and public affairs, answers callers questions about everyday moral and ethical issues on KUOW’s Weekday, July 20.
  • Erin Maher, HSPC research scientist, wrote on care-giving in the Seattle P-Iearlier this summer. Her guest column addressed the need for policies to support a growing and somewhat untraditional group of child-care providers: non-parent family members, friends, and neighbors.
  • Andrea Boulanger Lowe, Director of Career Services, was quoted recently in a Puget Sound Business Journal article on the challenges nonprofits are facing to hire more fundraising professionals.
  • The Policy Consensus Center was highlighted in a recent Puget Sound Business Journal article, on a five-step vision to restore trust in government. In the works is a proposal to rename the Center after William D. Ruckelshaus, who has articulated the five-step vision. Also, pending budget approval in the 2007 Legislature, the Center has announced it intends to fund demonstration projects designed to increase the profitability of agriculturalists in WA while preserving natural resources and rural landscapes.
  • Evans School student Kristin Paynter, receives first Washington City/County Management Association (WCMA) fellowship
    The (WCMA) has selected an Evans School student, Kristen Paynter, as the recipient of their first-ever graduate student fellowship. Her fellowship benefits include attending a professional conference and receiving WCMA mentoring. The committee also selected Evans School students Angela Wallis and Candida Lorenzana to be matched to WCMA mentors. Congratulations!
