Jason Smith Deployed to Iraq

Jason Smith, Director of Student Services, was activated for Marine Corps service in Iraq in January of this year. Two months of training in Los Angeles will be followed by deployment to the field in March, with an anticipated return to his Evans School duties in November, 2006. Sandra Archibald has appointed Carrie Evans, an Evans School alumna and special assistant to the dean, to serve as Acting Director of Admissions beginning January 2006. In addition to her other duties, she will work in partnership with Andrea Boulanger and Douglas Leek to ensure that delivery of all services to current and prospective students progresses smoothly and efficiently in Jason's absence. Jason will be activated with the Marine Force Reserve as a detachment commander for landing support in Iraq.
