Seminar "Dan Evans—A Legacy of Public Leadership in the Northwest" Is Open to Alumni
Alumni and their guests are invited to join current Evans School students at our seminar series on Daniel Evans' Legacy of Public Leadership. Dean Sandra Archibald and Civic Engagement Manager David Messerschmidt will lead a public forum and seminar series this fall that brings together community leaders and former Daniel Evans staffers for topical discussions.
Aaron Best, '05, worked with Governor Evans last spring as a research assistant helping with the Evans memoirs book project. Best encourages alumni and current Evans School students to take part in the Dan Evans "Legacy of Public Leadership" seminar, stating "Evans is an absolute giant in Pacific Northwest politics and the chance to interact with him personally and learn from his experiences should not be passed up!"
Daniel J. Evans has been a naval officer, state representative, governor, college president, chair of the Northwest Power Planning Council, United States Senator, and University of Washington Regent. Nationally he has been named one of the 10 best governors of the 20th Century.
