    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    MPA Refresher Program
    November 17-18, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Executive Refresher Program is a two-day course held each fall for graduates of both the Cascade Public Executive Program and the Executive Management Program, along with MPA degree program alumni. The course topic this year is Leading Change Strategically.

    Lifework Renewal Seminar
    October 8, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
A mini-retreat that provides a map of the change process and a new life and work perspective.

    Managing Group Decision Making
    October 13-14, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Contemporary workers want more participation in key decisions and have unique information and perspectives that are critical for making the best decision. Managing the process requires that employees be involved preceding and following a significant decision in order to increase trust and reduce resistance—even if management still makes the decision. Working from real-world cases, participants will gain specialized tools and guidance for framing problems, handling input, and communicating decisions and expectations.

    Leading High Performance Teams
    October 20-12, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Managing effectively in the public and non-profit sectors requires the broad use of teams and employee led groups. Participants will learn how to form and charter a team, frame an understanding of team performance, and assure effective practices for meeting management, creating decision and practical skills for assuring program implementation.
