Making the Right Choices
Location: Kane Hall Room 110, UW Seattle
Time: 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Should we choose paper or plastic bags, a hybrid-electric or alternative-fueled car? Will our recycled computers cause pollution in China? The answers aren't as simple as we might think, and the long-term toll on the environment can be surprising. Joyce Cooper, UW associate professor of mechanical engineering, exposes hidden environmental impacts inherent in decisions made every day by consumers, manufacturers, marketers and policymakers.
