Scholarship Luncheon Honors CFR Students and Donors

UWCFRAA Board member Mark Swanson was the featured student speaker at the 2005 scholarship luncheon held May 25, 2005 in the Walker Ames Room, Kane Hall. To mark the 25th anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens, Mark presented an outstanding slide show highlighting research and observations of ecological succession over the past 25 years.

Board member Ben Harrison, a member of the Dean's Club, was among those honored for their role in providing financial support for the forestry students that have followed after them.

2004-2005 recipients of scholarships endowed by the UWCFRAA were Alex Berry, Danielle Greenwood, and Claire Schairbuam.

Scholarship students and guests gathered for lunch May 18.

All CFR alumni should be proud of these outstanding scholars and of the financial support provided to them and others through such scholarships as those memorializing former professors Stan Gessel, Kyosti Sarkenan, and David R. M. Scott and alumni such as Bob McLachlan and Jim Ridgeway. This financial support allows CFR to attract high caliber students and allows the students to concentrate more fully on their academic work.
