Arbor Day 2006 under New Chair
Duane Emmons, Pack Forest Operations Coordinator, has added to his duties those of General Chair, Arbor Day 2006.
Duane's predecessor, Mason McKinley, will leave his job as Pack's Chief Forester to become the Ft. Lewis Project Manager for the Nature Conservancy. In his new job, Mason will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing the recovery plan for prairie, pine, oak and wetland ecosystems on Ft. Lewis and McCord bases.
Mason says, "I am excited to ply my management experiences in a new arena of natural resources and look forward to working with the Nature Conservancy and its partners. My family and I have decided to move primarily to enhance educational opportunities for our soon-to-be first grade daughter."
Our thanks to Mason for his good work. Wish him the best of luck in his new job and look forward to his participation as a Arbor Day volunteer.
Thanks, also, to 2005 Honorary Alumnus John Calhoun and to the Center for Sustainable Forestry at Pack Forest for their continued support of Arbor Day 2006 (and beyond).
