    VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

    Huskies Helping Huskies
Here’s a great way to stay connected and make a difference in the lives of other Huskies: volunteer to be a Husky Career Connections Network contact.

This worldwide network of UW alumni and friends offering information about their field and networking referrals to UW students and UWAA members who are exploring their career options. Click for more information and online sign-up.

Of course, if you are a UW Alumni Association member you can also take advantage of the Husky Career Connections Network to support your own career development. The network allows you to access more than 2,400 UW Business School alumni, and more than 5,000 contacts altogether.

Do you have news you'd like to share? Submit a class note. Tell us what major events have happened in your life: a new job, marriage, children, retirement, advanced degrees, you name it.

    Scott Swanson, B.A., 1985
Collins, the rapidly growing reinsurance intermediary that continues to expand its U.S. operations and services, has named Scott Swanson, a 20-year veteran of the reinsurance industry on the West Coast, as senior vice president of the company's western region.

In his new position, Swanson will be based in Seattle and will be responsible for the company's West Coast operations, which also include offices in San Francisco and Orange County, California.

He will lead their efforts in providing reinsurance brokerage services to property-casualty, life and health insurers, as well as managing general agents, in the western United States.

    Eric Lewis, B.A., 1985
Olympic Medical Center (OMC) commissioners have named Chief Financial Officer Eric Lewis as interim Administrator/CEO.

Lewis will fill in for Mike Glenn, who resigned as CEO last month after taking a job as the No. 2 man at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Lewis has been the Chief Financial Officer at OMC for more than eight years.

    Kristina Miranda, B.A., 2006
Miranda just celebrated a year with her current employer, Gelco Expense Management (www.gelcoexpense.com).

She reports that her personal life is great with a current boyfriend. She has also just purchased her second condo in Seattle.

Her goal next year is to purchase a third condo. No kids or marriage plans right now, just working hard and enjoying free time now that school is over.
