"Behind the Scenes" Engineering at the EMP
Get an insider's look at one of architect Frank Gehry's most technically challenging buildings. The design and construction process was unprecedented and continues to set standards for the industry today.
Jon Magnusson, '75, Chairman/CEO of Magnusson Klemencic Associates is the leader of an engineering firm involved in the construction. Magnusson will tell you how the building that many people have called "frozen music" was actually created.
Everyone will participate in an architectural tour, led by an EMP docent. Attendees are welcome to stay after the tour and enjoy the EMP galleries on your own.
When: Saturday, October 7, beginning at 9 a.m.
Where: Experience Music Project, 325 5th Ave. N, Seattle
Cost: UWAA Members $40, Non-members $50, Students $40 (price includes admission to EMP)
