    UW / Pacific NW Tech Career Fair
    The Pacific NW Tech Career Fair offers a unique venue targeting Technology and the Sciences.  Fifty Puget Sound area high tech companies will be on hand to recruit alumni who are experienced professionals in business, engineering, information technology and related fields. Advance registration online is required for both employers and job-seekers.

    Date:  July 20, 2006
    Time: 3 - 7 p.m.
    Place: Mary Gates Hall Commons on UW Seattle campus

    Save the DateThe Alma Balmer: Young Alumni Reception is planned for Thursday, September 28th, from 6-8 p.m. in the Center for Urban Horticulture.

    Barry MacKechnie, BA ‘71
    After a nationwide search, BD&A, the nation's Merchandise Agency, announced the addition of MacKechnie as its new Chief Operations Officer.MacKechnie earned his reputation for excellence in leadership in categories from mass grocery to technology to consulting. Past positions he has held include President of Larry's Markets, CEO of RevX software and Director of Sales and Branch Operations for BEST/Venturi Consulting, as well as CEO of his own CPA consulting group for 18 years.

    Dale Smith, BA ‘77
    Smith was recently named to head the new Retail Banking Division at Whidbey Island Bank.

    Norma Tollman, BA ‘83
    In December of 2005 Tollman was selected to be the manager of a new aviation logistics organization in FAA headquarters.  Tollman is also the leading effort on the President's Management Agenda on Real Property for the Department of Transportation.

    Dan Sullivan, BA ‘85
    BD&A recently announced the addition of Dan Sullivan as Vice President of Sales. In his new role, Sullivan will oversee strategic sales campaigns, sales operations, marketing functions and key account growth programs for clients in the sports marketing, technology, entertainment, motor sports and professional services industries.

    Andrea Wiesemann, BA ‘95
    Wiesemann and husband, Matthew Alexander, welcomed a baby boy into their family on March 2, 2006. His name is Mason Matthew Alexander.

    Stacie Byars, BA ‘00
    Byars has recently been elected to serve as a Director of the Arthritis Foundation for a three-year term. Byars is the Director of Communications for Targeted Genetics Corporation, a Seattle company developing gene therapies to prevent and treat inflammatory arthritis and other serious diseases.
