Challenge for Charity Auction & Gala grosses $158,000!
This year's UW MBA Challenge for Charity Auction & Gala was a record-breaking fundraiser for the organization's beneficiary charities: Special Olympics Washington and Boys & Girls Clubs of King County.
Held at the spectacular Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center, the event garnered the generous participation of over 280 guests, who bid on over 250 items in three silent auctions and a live auction. With the help of major and corporate sponsors Microsoft, Merrill Gardens, Accenture, Walters & Wolf, UIEvolution, Three Rivers Winery, and the UWAA, C4C will be able to make the largest contributions to our charities in the history of the program.
In addition to raising money for these charities, the C4C Competition is based on volunteer hours for the selected charities, and a sports competition. For the past six years, the UW MBA C4C chapter has bested seven other schools (including Stanford, Berkeley, USC and UCLA), winning the "Golden Briefcase." The C4C team is continuing to work hard to bring back lucky number 7, and the winner will be announced after the sports weekend, held at Stanford April 28-30.
