IKEA International Case Competition
On Thursday, January 19th the internal selection round of the IKEA International Case Competition begins and judges are still needed.
In its eighth year, the competition involves 96 UW Business undergraduate participants, 2 student co-chairs, and over 20 student volunteers. This internal competition has become the selection round for undergraduate teams who go on to compete on behalf of the UW Business School at universities around the world. Past teams have traveled to Montreal, Copenhagen, Texas, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
Teams have 42 hours to prepare their presentation before presenting it to a panel of judges made up of local business leaders, UW alumni, and faculty. Each panel of judges will watch six presentations. Judges receive the case in advance and participate in a Breakfast Briefing the morning of the competition to answer any questions. Judges either play the role of Board of Directors or Senior Management depending on the case. Following each presentation, judges ask questions that would be of importance to the company. The panel then selects which team goes on to the final round.
