Business School Welcomes Home MBA Alums
The inaugural MBA Reunion Weekend, held September 23-24, welcomed back nearly 150 alumni from the classes of 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000 in the MBA, Evening MBA, Executive MBA and all other master's degree programs offered by the Business School.
Highlights of the event, which coincided with the Back To Business School Weekend, included a luncheon with UW President Mark Emmert and Business School Dean James Jiambalvo and seminars with favorite professors—Dave Burgstahler, Xiao-Ping Chen, Mark Forehand, Karma Hadjimichalakis, Rocky Higgins and Ted Klastorin—delivering command performances based on their latest research. High-volume networking took place at Friday evening class socials and during the tailgate brunch before the Huskies took on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Organizers plan to build upon this first year's successes, and make the MBA Reunion Weekend a thriving tradition at the Business School for years to come.
"From the time you are accepted to any of our graduate degree programs, we want you to feel for the rest of your life like you will be a part of the Business School community," says Sissy Bouchard, director of development.
Next fall's MBA Reunion Weekend will honor master's degree classes of 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996 and 2001.
