    Young Alumni Reception, September 29
    Join fellow undergraduate business alumni from the last 10 years at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture on September 29th from 6-8 p.m.

    Dean's Business Breakfast Series
    The Dean's Business Breakfast Series kicks off September 28th with Bill Gates Sr., '49, '50, as our keynote speaker. All lectures begin with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. The guest lecture begins at 8 a.m. and concludes with a Q&A session. The cost per lecture is $15 and includes breakfast and parking. RSVP by contacting Corinne Goellnitz in the Office of the Dean at 206-221-5749 or goell@u.washington.edu.

    Dow Dawg Turns Fantastical Virtual Profit
    Alex CheungLast spring, Alex Cheung (B.A., 2005) became a billionaire. Well, a virtual billionaire, at least. The winner of the annual Dow Dawgs Mock Stock Competition turned an imaginary $1 million into $1.5 billion - sadly, also imaginary - in just three months, by aggressively day-trading on real-life stock markets. For those of you scoring at home, that's a gain of 1,500 percent.

    In June, the Business and Economic Development Program celebrated its 10th anniversary with nearly 500 alumni, friends, faculty, students, dignitaries, mentors and clients at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.
