Business School Names Interim Dean
Last month, Dean Yash Gupta announced that he will be leaving the Business School at the end of June to become Dean of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Associate Dean Vance Roley has agreed to become Acting Dean of the Business School, effective July 1, subject to the Regents' approval at their June meeting. Please join us in welcoming Vance to his new position and in giving him help and support to keep the Business School moving forward.

'Tis the Season for Jobs and Internships!
The Career Service team and students are working madly to line up jobs and internships for MBAs within the next month. We can use all the help we can get. Special needs include two students moving to L.A. with an eye on the entertainment industry. MBA Students Win National VC Investment Competition
Five University of Washington students won the National Venture Capital Investment Competition held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The event required student teams to assume the role of a venture capital firm. Each school was given a hypothetical $100 million fund to invest in and had 48 hours to evaluate five bona fide business plans and decide where to invest their money. They then had to defend their decisions to a judging panel of venture capitalists.

Calling All Mariners Fans: Help Support Our Student Entrepreneurs!
As a part of the Business School's Entrepreneurship Program, five students have started a small business from scratch. "Mojo Dogs" is a new exciting hot-dog cart operated outside the Safeco Field during Mariner's home games. While selling hot dogs, students are learning all the ups and downs, pros and cons, of this entrepreneurial opportunity. The last two quarters have been a roller coaster for the young, enthusiastic undergrads who worked hard to develop the idea, obtain money from local investors, and finally to be able to see themselves in action. These are the future business leaders of our community! Let's show them our support and buy the best hot dogs at Mojo Dogs when attending an M's game.
