John Stanton.

John W. Stanton currently serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Western Wireless Corp. and as chairman of T-Mobile USA. He co-founded the first large wireless communications company in the United States, McCaw Cellular Communications, where he served as chief operating officer and vice chairman. He founded and served as chairman and CEO of Pacific Northwest Cellular and General Cellular, which were combined to form Western Wireless Corp. Under Mr. Stanton's leadership, Western Wireless has become a leading provider of communication services in the western United States and many rural areas. In 1994, Western Wireless formed VoiceStream Wireless, one of the fastest-growing wireless service providers in the country. A Seattle-area native, Mr. Stanton received his bachelor's degree in political science from Whitman College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
