Expand Your Mind with the UW in San Francisco

Join us for a special event for UW alumni and friends in the Bay Area. Experience the much-anticipated new Asian Art museum and learn about Japanese art from a renowned UW professor! The event includes lunch and a lecture by Dr. Cynthia Bogel, followed by a tour of the Asian Art Museum in its new location. Dr. Bogel will be speaking about "Japanese Buddhist Art: Secrets, Lies and Photographs."

This event is sold-out. Our space was limited to 190 persons. It is very unlikely that we will be able to accept walk-up registration at the event. Should you wish to tour the museum, you certainly may do so on your own. Our group will be touring the museum at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Thank you and we hope you will join us for our next alumni event in the Bay Area.

The Asian Art Museum
The new museum opens to the public on March 20, 2003. Its new home is the rehabilitated Main Library building, a 1917 Beaux-Arts building that's considered one of San Francisco's most important structures. The $160 million renovation gives the museum almost twice the space of its previous location in Golden Gate Park. The new building part of the Civic Center in the heart of downtown. Visit the Asian Art Museum site for more information and exhibition details.
