Become a Volunteer
Remember how taxing it was trying to find the right job after college? Did somebody help you get your foot in the door? If so, show your appreciation by returning the favor. Volunteer to become a Husky Career Network contact and share your professional journey with fellow Huskies!
All UW alumni and friends are eligible to become Husky Career Network volunteers. All you need to do is create a profile. It's an easy way to make a big difference to Huskies interested in your field. (To access the site, you’ll just need a UW Net ID.)
When creating your profile, you’ll be able to identify the type of person you’d most like to help (alumni or student; early career, mid-career, etc.). You can also specify how you’d prefer to be contacted and how you’re best able to help fellow Huskies – for example, through informational interviews or internships your company might have available. Once you’ve created your profile, you can view and update it at any time.
What is expected of Husky Career Network volunteers?
Husky Career Network volunteers agree to:
- Help fellow Huskies (current students and members of the UW Alumni Association) explore a career, industry or company;
- Provide information about their city or region; and
- Suggest additional contacts and offer job-search tips.
Volunteers are not expected to:
- Provide jobs or internships
- Continue extended communication
We hope you will enthusiastically agree to a meeting or phone call when you are contacted, but we also know you are busy. If at any point you no longer want to be HCN volunteer or you need a break, you can easily de-activate your profile, either temporarily or permanently.
