CAREER CONNECTIONS HELP
How to Use the Notebook
The notebook is the heart of Career Connections and is a powerful tool you can use to keep track of contacts you've made or are in the process of making.
Definitions:
| PENDING CONTACT |
An individual you're considering using as a contact, but have not yet selected. You cannot view name, email or telephone information of pending contacts. You can have as many pending contacts in your notebook as you like. |
| CONTACT |
An individual you've selected to use as a contact. You can view name, email and/or telephone information of contacts. You can have as many contacts in your notebook as you like, but you can add only up to 12 new contacts per calendar month. |
Selecting a Contact:
Once you have determined that an individual would make a good contact, you can view name, email and/or telephone information by clicking the "SELECT" link next to the pending contact's entry in your notebook. You can select up to 8 new contacts per month, and can store as many "selected" contacts in your notebook as you like.
Sorting Your Notebook:
You can sort individuals in your notebook by clicking the column headers. For example, you could arrange the entries in your notebook alphabetically by organization name by clicking the "Organization" column header.
Tracking Your Contacts:
After you have selected a contact, you can add notes about any interactions you have to that individual's details page in your notebook. You might want to use this feature to keep track of phone calls you've made, email messages you've sent, or to summarize the results of conversations you've had.
Remember:
- You can have as many pending contacts in your notebook as you like.
- You can't view name, email or telephone information until you "select" a contact.
- There is no limit to the number of contacts you can have in your notebook, but you can add only up to 8 new contacts per calendar month.
