Program Description
Dawg Dash is the alumni association's annual 5K/10K race/walk that raises money for student scholarships. The race, which winds its way through the UW's scenic Seattle campus, draws over 2,000 students, alumni and friends from around the state. It's a family-friendly event and even dogs are welcome! A Post-Dash Bash rounds out the fun.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help with set-up and clean-up
- Hand out giveaways
- Assist race coordinator with registration packets
- Staff water and cheer stations at intervals along the course
Dates and Locations
Dawg Dash is part of the UWAA's Homecoming-related events each fall. For example, in 2008, Dawg Dash will be held Oct. 12. The event usually starts around 9 or 9:30 a.m. Volunteer shifts usually begin around 7:30 a.m.
