Consolidated Endowment Fund
The Treasury Office is responsible for the investment and administration of the Consolidated Endowment Fund (CEF). The CEF consists of over 2,800 separate endowments. The CEF is similar to a mutual fund in that each individual endowment buys units in the fund. The CEF supports University programs as designated by its donors. The endowment distributes 5% of market value based on a three year moving average market value to University programs. Programs supported by the endowment distributions include scholarships, fellowships, professorships, chairs and research activities. The University of Washington Endowment Report 2007 provides an overview of the CEF. Information on the performance of the CEF can be found in the quarterly investment performance reports. If you are interested in making an endowed gift, please contact the University of Washington’s Office of Development.
