There are other reimbursable ways to travel besides commerical
airlines
and cars. However, it is your responsibility to
select transportation options that are most economical to the University.
You are reimbursed for:
Special cases:

Piloted aircraft
(either rented or privately owned) must be authorized in
advance by the Washington State Department of Transportation
Aeronautics Commission and the Purchasing Department. Mileage
is reimbursed at $1.07/nautical
mile (rate effective 1/1/05) based on
the NOAA Airways
Charts. Approval must be in the
Travel Office
prior to your trip.

Charter aircraft
(including fixed wing and helicopters) are contracted through
the Purchasing Department and are not considered part of the
travel process.

contracted with the University. You may use your CTA or they may direct bill your
department with a purchase order.

Flexcar is a membership-based car sharing program. The following
are methods in seeking reimbursement or paying for Flexcar.
The U-CAR
is a conveniently
located and economically priced Motor Pool
rental vehicle available for hourly rentals. Anyone with a valid
UWNet ID and driver's license are able to reserve and
access the U-CAR anytime. Trip tracking occurs automatically and billing
is
charged directly to a UW budget number. A copy of the receipt is sent to
the reservation contact and department billing contact via email.
Offers discount to UW travelers. Pick up and drop off
are
offered only at Lander, McMahon, Mercer or Terry hall.
