Fee Definitions
State regulations require that all University business airfare be purchased through a State of Washington contract travel agency or by directly calling the airline. Purchasing tickets from an Internet source is not permitted. You must purchase tickets with either your individual corporate VISA account or a department VISA CTA account. Use minority/women owned businesses whenever possible from the list below.
Discount airfare tickets for international routes only may be purchased from an air travel wholesaler who is not a contract travel agency if the following conditions are met:
Travel agencies that have a contract with the State for the period 9/24/01 - 7/31/03 are listed below. The agencies are permitted to charge fees for booking and/or ticketing airfares. (No fees may be charged for lodging, car rentals or other transportation).
On international flights (excluding Canada), travel agencies can charge 5% of the price of the ticket. When charging the 5%, the ticketing fee cannot exceed $100. Travel agencies cannot charge both the 5% and the regular reservation and ticketing fee.
Add the service fees to the airfare for reimbursement. Do not list the fee(s) separately on the TEV.
