Ordinarily, no member of the faculty with the rank of assistant professor or above shall be granted any advanced degree at this University. However, with prior approval of his or her chair, dean, and the Provost, such degrees (outside the faculty member's department) may be granted. This regulation shall not be applied to any member of the military services officially assigned to the campus.
