Technology transfer is the transfer of intellectual property rights between the University and companies or other entities outside the University. Such intellectual property rights may consist of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. The University unit responsible for all technology transfer and related intellectual property matters is the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (OIPTT). This policy statement provides general information and a description of the procedures of the OIPTT. The University's "Patent, Invention, and Copyright Policy" may be found in Executive Order No. 36.
