For facilities located in jurisdictions away from the Seattle

for health, safety and environmental matters; serve as liaison in dealing
with regulatory agencies having responsibility for occupational health
and safety, buildings, fire prevention, utilities, and public health;
and assist with required notifications and permits.
This policy does not preclude direct relationships between
University organizational units and regulatory agencies on other matters.
In such instances, however, EH&S will function in an advisory capacity
on items dealing with health, safety, and pollution legislation, the preparation
of environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, utility
planning, and land use planning.
