Equipment Insurance

The Equipment Insurance program was created to meet the needs of the University to buy property insurance for equipment either owned or leased by a department. The Office of Risk Management manages the program. Coverage is purchased from a commercial carrier and many of the administrative decisions reflect policy requirements.

The program operates through an online, campus-wide system to allow entry, review, reporting, and renewal by department personnel. The department is responsible for deciding if an equipment item is eligible for insurance coverage and then requesting it.

Data Loss - Laptops and computers (CPUs) that are stolen may contain information that is protected by regulations, government entities or other agencies. We have created a list of such protected data - Data Checklist
