Outreach to Suppliers

As a public institution supported by both state and federal funds, the University is committed to open and fair business practices, and encourages participation by all interested and qualified parties in UW contracts for goods and services.

Refer to the UW Interim Contracting Policy. UW Purchasing makes efforts to identify and include small and underutilized busineses in all competitive selections.

Departments are authorized to make small-dollar purchases using procurement cards and confirming requisitions. Department staff who are involved in such purchases are responsible for making efforts to identify small businesses and businesses which have been underutilized.
