RIP
Rapid Invoice Processing.
Recap
The recording of bids and bidding data that were submitted in response to a specific invitation for the purposes of comparison, analysis and record-keeping.
Receipt of Goods
Taking physical possession of items purchased.
Receiving Report
Internal University form attached to invoices which gives Payables and Accounting Operations necessary information for writing of check.
Reference Station
Contains various directories, publications, manuals and texts concerning Purchasing and Stores, the University and State procedures/regulations.
Refund Request
A request made of a vendor in case overpayment or payment for canceled item.
Regents Project
Public works bid requiring Board of Regent approval.
Registered Mail
To provide maximum protection against loss for valuable first class, air and priority mail. Insurable. May request signed receipt of delivery if desired. See University of Washington Operations Manual, Volume II, D.54.1.

Request for Purchase
An internal University document by which a using department requests the Purchasing Department to initiate a procurement.
Request for Quotation
Buying procedure for purchase of goods and materials estimated to cost in excess of direct buy limitation. See University of Washington Policies & Procedures, Purchasing Department, Procedure 7.3.5.
Requisition

Responsive Bidder
A bidder whose bid meets all the specifications and terms set out in the Invitation to Bids.
Rush Order
The type of order placed when a department needs certain items urgently.
