Color SeparationsColor separation is a printing term for indicating which parts of a publication are going to be printed in a specific color of ink. The example shown here is of a publication using purple and black ink.
When the two colors are put together the publication looks like this:
![]() If you are using Pagemaker, it is easy to do color separations if you have applied color to the publication as you are constructing it. When you chose "print", an option comes up called "color" - you will find this option at the right hand side of the print dialogue box. Click on "color" and in the color dialogue box you will have option of changing the default from Composite to Separations. After you have made this change and click on "print" the print-outs produced will automatically color separate for you.
