An Overview of Creative Communications Buy-Out Service Fee

Overview

Creative Communications now has a revised fee structure for buy-out jobs. Effective on all jobs billed after July 1, 2001, the benefits of the new structure are two-fold:

  1. It recognizes the economy of scale by incrementally reducing the service fee as the print job increases.

  2. It standardizes the services offered by Creative Communications, making additional services easily available on a fee-for-service basis while acknowledging the sophistication of some University departments in print production.

New Structure

The new structure is a graduated declining scale. That means all clients pay the same rate at each range.

For example:

Cost recovery on a $25,000 job is $1,600 or 6.4%
First $2,000 calculated at 15% = $300,
next $3,000 calculated at 10% = $300,
final $20,000 calculated at 5% = $1,000.

Services Provided

The fees at each level cover the basics of vendor selection, project management, and client advocacy. Your coordinator can provide you a more in depth explanation. If you need additional services, your coordinator is more than willing to assist and will explain to you the related charge prior to performing the work.
