Mailing
CASS CertificationIn order to mail at reduced postage rates, your address list must verified against the United States Postal System (USPS) National Database. This is called CASS certification, and it ensures that every address on your mailing list is deliverable. For more detailed information see USPS CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System). To meet the CASS certification requirements:
In order to keep your address lists current, it is recommended that at least once a year you send a mailing First Class (no endorsement required), or Standard (A) - formerly called Bulk Rate (including Non Profit) - with the endorsement "Address Service Requested". If any addresses are incorrect/undeliverable, the U.S. Postal Service will send you notification. If you send an electronic address file to Mail Preparation Services for an inkjet addressing job, Address Error Reports are available upon request on completion of the job. You also have the option of not getting your mailing list CASS certified and paying First Class single piece rate for any mailing list used.
