Burke-Gilman Trail
Saturday, February 4, 2012 3:45 p.m.
ASSAULT
On Saturday, February 4, 2012 at approximately 3:45 p.m., a male suspect physically assaulted a female UW student on the Burke-Gilman Trail near Pend Oreille Rd. The male suspect was acting erratically, approached the female victim, tried talking to her, then lunged at her, grabbing her breasts. The victim ran from the scene, returned to her residence, and called a relative. The victim reported the assault to UW Police an hour later. The victim was not injured.
Officers checked the vicinity of the assault but the suspect was not located. During the same time frame, Seattle Police had a report of a similar assault north of campus with a suspect of similar description. The male suspect is described as light complexion, curly reddish-blonde hair, 20's, 5'10", thin build, wearing a puffy orange colored jacket and sunglasses with green frames.

Notification of Criminal Incident - Seattle Campus: outside Schmitz Hall
December 12, 2011, 23:57 p.m.
Armed Robbery
At 11:57 p.m., an armed robbery occurred near Schmitz Hall in the 4000 block of University Way, N.E. Three UW students’ backpacks, cell phones, laptop, wallets, and other electronic equipment were taken by two male suspects. Both suspects brandished semi-automatic handguns. One student victim tried to run away and was assaulted by one of the suspects. Both suspects fled northbound on University Way. The students were not injured.
Suspect #1 is described as a Hispanic male, early 20’s, 6’0”, dark hair, dark beanie, goatee, grey hoodie, dark jeans. Suspect #2 is described as a Black male, early 20’s, 6’2” – 6’3”, thick, dark frame glasses, light colored hoodie, dark jeans.

Notification of a Criminal Incident - north of Seattle Campus
December 9th, 2011 2:10 a.m.
Aggravated Assault
On Friday, December 9th, 2011 at approximately 2:10 a.m., two male University of Washington students were assaulted in the area north of campus. The two victims, along with a third person, left a local business establishment and engaged in a conversation with the two male suspects. All five people walked towards N.E. 50th Street from University Way, N.E. At 17th Avenue N.E., the conversation became a verbal argument that quickly escalated into an assault. One suspect attacked one of the UW students, striking him in the neck with some kind of weapon, possibly an electrical stun device. The entire group then ran from the area. At 18th Avenue N.E., a second victim from the group was assaulted by the same suspect and was punched several times in the upper torso. The suspect also bit this victim's middle finger.
After the assaults, the suspect fled northbound on 18th Avenue from N.E. 50th Street. No property was taken from the victims. Both victims declined medical attention. An area check for the suspect was conducted by Seattle police with negative results.
The suspect is described as male, early twenties, wearing a light blue jacket.

University District – 5200 blk 20th NE
December 1, 2011
Attempted Robbery
An attempted robbery occurred December 1, 2011 around 10:00 p.m., in the 5200 block of 20th Ave., N.E. A female student was locking her car and was approached from behind by a male. The male grabbed her by her torso and demanded money. The woman turned around, hit the suspect with her car keys, ran away and called 911. The woman was not injured as a result of this incident.
Seattle police and UW police officers were unable to locate the suspect in the area. The suspect is described as six foot tall, in his 30's, wearing a black beanie, black windbreaker, jeans and white sneakers.

University District: 4100 block U Way NE
November 30, 2011 1:45 pm
Bank Robbery
On Wednesday, November 30, 2011 around 1:45 p.m., a man robbed a bank in the 4100 block of University Way, N.E. He is a white male in his late 40s, 5’10-6’0 tall, with a medium build, gray stubble beard and prescription glasses. A photo of him during the robbery may be viewed at http://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2011/12/01/do-you-know-this-bank-robber-2/ He may have red dye stains on his hands from the money stolen from the bank. The suspect did not display any weapons during the robbery and left the bank on foot.

Seattle Campus: near Parrington Hall
November 22, 2011, 9:56 pm
Armed Robbery
On Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at approximately 9:56 p.m., a lone male suspect approached two male UW students near Parrington Hall. The suspect demanded the victims' wallets and cell phones. The suspect displayed a handgun, threatened the victims and punched one of them in the face before fleeing with their wallets and one cell phone. The suspect was last seen running westbound toward Schmitz Hall carrying the handgun. Following an extensive area search by UWPD and SPD officers, the suspect was not located. The victim who was struck in the face sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 20-25 years of age, approximately 6'0" tall, medium build with a slight mustache. He was wearing a light gray colored wool cap and black hooded sweatshirt with a visible logo over the left chest area. The suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Seattle Campus: NE 45th near 12th NE
November 20, 2011
Strong Arm Robbery
On Sunday morning November 20, 2011 at 2:08 a.m., two females were walking eastbound on N.E. 45th Street near 12th Avenue N.E., when they were approached by two unknown males who engaged the females in conversation. One of the females, a UW student, was talking on her Apple iPhone when one of the males grabbed the iPhone from her hand. Both males then ran westbound on N.E. 45th Street. They were last seen running southbound in the 4300 block of Roosevelt Way N.E. The victim was not injured. Police checked the area for the suspects, however they were not located.
The suspect who took the iPhone was described as a male in his early 20's, approximately 5'07", with a thin build wearing a white colored skull cap, white hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second subject was described as a male in his early twenties, no clothing description.

Strong Arm Robberies
November 10, 2011, 7:30 pm and 10:10 pm
Two separate incidents occurred Thursday evening, November 10, 2011.
At about 7:30 P.M. a strong arm robbery occurred in the 1100 block of N.E. 41st St, near Condon Hall. A female student's cellular phone was taken from her by one of two males wearing black hoodies. The incident was posted on a Facebook site and reported to police by a third party. The female student was not injured when her cellular telephone was snatched from her hand by one of the suspects . Both suspects immediately fled from the scene. There is no additional information and/or description of the suspects. Seattle and University of Washington Police searched but were unable to locate the suspects. The student was not injured during the robbery. This case is being investigated by the Seattle Police Department under case number 11-366188.
A second incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. A group of UW students was standing at the intersection of N.E. 42nd St. and 15th Ave. N.E. An unknown male exited a Metro bus, approached the group and grabbed an iPod from a victim's hand. Immediately after this a second group of males exited the bus and approached the group. A male suspect then grabbed a set of headphones from a second victim and the group then ran.There were no weapons involved in this incident and the victims were not injured. Seattle police and UW police officers were unable to locate the vehicle or suspects in the area. The suspects are described as four males, with no further description.This case is being investigated by the Seattle Police Department under case number 11-366328.
