Campus Security Advisory Committee
The Campus Security Advisory Committee was established in 1991 as required by RCW 28B.10.569 as a task force to annually examine campus security and safety issues. The task force also was responsible for reviewing the annual crime statistics report that is distributed to incoming, current, and potential students, faculty, and staff to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of the report, and to make any suggestions for improvement. Early task force members included University of Washington administration, faculty, staff, recognized student organizations and the police organization.
The UW Campus Security Advisory Committee currently holds bi-monthly meetings. The Committee reviews current crime trends, current issues, new policies and procedures, as well as past events, and potential problems or debates.
