The University of Washington: Office of Planning and Budgeting

The University of Washington Budget Challenge

The magnitude of the current budget challenge is great, and we know that no one person will be able to offer all the solutions we'll need. As we look for solutions, we turn to our core values, including collaboration and innovation, and ask our community to share in addressing this challenge.

If you have ideas about how the University of Washington can save money, reduce costs, improve efficiency or effectiveness, eliminate waste and/or increase revenues, we want to hear from you!

How to submit your ideas

When submitting your ideas, please:

  • Describe your idea (no more than a page)
  • Describe short-term and long-term costs/savings/benefits, if possible
  • Focus on positive steps we can take to support UW's Vision and Values
  • Provide your name and email

We are committed to sharing your ideas with others in our UW community. Please note all comments will be considered as public. If you would like us to withhold your name, please let us know.

We will read all ideas submitted. Depending upon the volume of suggestions, we may find ourselves unable to respond to all emails directly. We appreciate your understanding, and thank you for your ideas!

Please submit your comments via email to: bgtideas@u.washington.edu
