Capital & Space Planning Office
(CASPO)
The Capital and Space Planning Office is responsible for:
- coordinating academic facilities master plans and the capital budgeting process,
- developing the basis for the capital budget request,
- devising improvements to the capital planning system,
- analyzing, submitting and justifying the capital request.
- providing information to the Office of Financial Management (OFM) and legislative staff
- coordinating all matters of capital and space planning with the Higher Education Coordinating Board and other state institutions
CASPO also:
- develops space planning standards and unit space allocations,
- plans and directs the space management and allocation system.
- conducts space utilization studies,
- develops and implements methods of analysis and evaluation of physical facilities,
- maintains building and room inventories of space.
CASPO provides staff support to the following:
- University Budget Committee,
- Capital Facilities Committee,
- Academic Advisory Committee on Facilities,
- Faculty Council on University Facilities and Services
- other planning committees.
