The Capital and Space Planning Office is responsible for:

• coordinating academic facilities master plans and the capital budgeting process,
• developing the basis for the capital budget request,
• devising improvements to the capital planning system,
• analyzing, submitting and justifying the capital request.
• providing information to the Office of Financial Management (OFM) and legislative staff
• coordinating all matters of capital and space planning with the Higher Education Coordinating Board and other state institutions

CASPO also:

• develops space planning standards and unit space allocations,
• plans and directs the space management and allocation system.
• conducts space utilization studies,
• develops and implements methods of analysis and evaluation of physical facilities,
• maintains building and room inventories of space.

CASPO provides staff support to the following:

• University Budget Committee,
• Capital Facilities Committee,
• Academic Advisory Committee on Facilities,
• Faculty Council on University Facilities and Services
• other planning committees.
