Updates!
Please see the updated tax notice and tax table effective April 1, 2009.
Please be aware of e-mail scams that request personal or financial information, such as Social Security Number, bank account or credit card numbers, or passwords/PIN numbers. These e-mails will fraudulently use the IRS name or logo in order to access information needed to commit identity theft. The IRS does not send unsolicited emails and will never ask you for secret information like passwords, PIN numbers, credit card or bank account information. If you receive this type of suspicious email, do not reply, do not open attachments, and do not click any links embedded in the email.
Verification of Employment:
The University of Washington now uses a standardized form for verifying employment and requesting verification letters. This new process makes verifying employment more efficient for all parties. We no longer accept requests that do not use the UW form.
Form W-4:
W-4 forms can now be completed online through Employee Self-Service. For instructions, go to the Form W-4 page.
A W-4 form must be completed upon initial hire. If the form is not completed, we will default the withholding to the highest rate; single and with zero allowances.
Direct Deposit:
The University encourages all employees to have direct deposit. On payday,
your money will be in your account at the opening of the financial
institution's payday. Direct deposit of your payroll check means no lost
or stolen paper checks, no waiting in line to pick up a payroll check, and
no special trip to your bank or credit union. Direct Deposit can be setup or changed online through Employee Self-Service. For instructions go to the Direct Deposit page.
UW NetID:
Want to learn more about the benefits of a UW NetID and learn how to get one? Request one online.
