UW Educational Outreach offers many educational and training opportunities that are available to UW employees.
The ASUW Experimental College is not University-operated but offers access to courses that may be of personal or professional interest.
The UW Women's Center annually offers over 300 continuing education classes, workshops, and lectures that are available to the campus greater community. Classes are affordable, and include categories such as academic success, creative arts, personal enrichment, professional development, foreign languages and travel, writing and writers, financial success, and health, wellness and fitness.
As part of the University's commitment to staff professional development, release time of up to 24 hours per quarter is available for staff to participate in Professional & Organizational Development programs. Please consult with your supervisor regarding departmental processes for using release time.
The UW offers a state-authorized Tuition Exemption Program to assist employees in furthering their education. This program is available to faculty and professional and classified staff employees who work 50% or more. Participation is on a space-available basis. Release time for participation in the Tuition Exemption Program is at the discretion of the department head or designee.
