Due to the expectation that full-time overtime exempt professional staff and librarians work at least 40 hours per week, at the supervisor's discretion, an approved partial day absence does not need to be charged to the employee’s leave balance.
If an overtime exempt professional staff employee or librarian requests a partial day absence, follow your department’s normal leave request procedures to provide your employee with approval in advance of the effective date(s).
If you approve the partial day absence, the absence does not need to be recorded in the employee’s Work/Leave record.
