UWHIRES Updates and Issues
Security Review Update
On July 1, 2007 the question under the "Security Review" tab on the hiring manager's desk top was changed to reflect the revised UW criminal background check process.
Redesigned Entry Page for Candidates
The candidate entry page has been re-designed to better guide returning
candidates and UW employees based on input from the UWHIRES Help
Desk. The new design highlights the features that are available
on the candidate and employee portals (i.e. check job status, update your profile, apply for more positions).
New Update Release Model
To better serve the long-term requirements of users, UWHIRES has moved to a
"release"-based development process with its vendor, Recruitmax.
In the previous development process "bug" fixes and enhancements
were tested and released to production as they were completed. In
the new model, groups of fixes and enhancements will be aggregated
into releases to allow more thorough testing. This process change
is aimed to enhance the quality and consistency of the results for
hiring managers, candidates, and other users.
Completed Updates
- Duplicate entries on requisitions and the duplicate emails being sent have been resolved.
- Help link added to hiring manager workbench.
- Union Shop Status auto-fills in requisition with selection
of job code.
- Candidate Filter on requisitions works.
- Rejection reasons appear in alphabetical order.
- Functionality to search on candidates within a requisition
is available.
- Candidate lists on requisitions remains in selected sort
order until a new sort order is selected instead of automatically
reverting to default sort order when leaving page.
- Offer approvers will not default to appear in alphabetical order
and remains in order entered.
- Union Bargaining Unit information has been added to requisitions.
- New job codes created for classifications moving from WPRB
to Contract Classified have been added.
- Candidates will receive notification when they have not completed
additional application materials (e.g., cover letter) required
for a position.
- Hiring managers can add new bulk activities of Phone Screen
and Reviewed by Hiring Manager.
Next Up
- Work will begin on system enhancements that have been requested. Included in the first release are:
- Updates to the requisition and Manager Workbench to enhance usability.
- Report that provides overview of all department requisitions.
- Ability to add Interview as mass activity.
- Rejection reasons entered with Candidate Not Selected activity
will be viewable.
- Improved offer approval history maintenance.
