Star Award (formal recognition program)

The Star award is an expression of appreciation for great work throughout the year. It offers a chance to acknowledge a coworker who regularly pitches in to get the job done, is a pleasure to work with, and shares information willingly.

Who's eligible

Any UW Technology / Learning & Scholarly Technologies (LST) / Office of Information Management (OIM) employee or contractor who:

Has at least a year of service with UW Technology/LST/OIM,
Has an appointment of 50% time or more,
Has not already been a recipient of the Star award.

Criteria

Nominate a staff member who, over the past year, has worked to help make this an organization of customer service, teamwork, and learning. Please consider staff throughout the organization, including those staff whose contributions may not be highly visible throughout the organization.

Selection of winners

Upon receiving your nomination, the Nominations Committee will request supporting letters from the nominee's supervisor, review all nominations, and select the finalists to recommend to the Staff Recognition Awards Committee.

Awards

Star Awards, including commemorative stars and cash awards, are presented at the annual all-staff meeting.
