Classified and professional staff in regular appointments who are terminated from employment will receive written notice of termination. The notice specifies the effective date of termination and to whom any questions about the action may be directed. Employees covered by a labor contract should review the terms of the applicable contract.
UW-paid medical and dental coverage ends at midnight on the last day of the month in which a benefits-eligible employee is terminated as long the employee receives at least eight hours pay during that month. Terminated employees may be eligible to pay for continued UW health insurance coverage for up to eighteen months through COBRA.
